APPROXIMATE ANNUAL SALARY -  $78,884.64 to  $118,661.04  PAY GRADE: 42
The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Licensed Professional Engineers provide professional services involving the application of engineering principles and data, or activities in connection with public or private utilities, structures, buildings, machines, equipment or projects impacting the public welfare or the safeguarding of life, health or property.
Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.
Under the supervision of the manager of the Water Rights Section, the incumbent in this position supervises Staff I and Staff II Associate Engineers and Professional Engineers who perform water resource specialist tasks including review of water right applications, extension of time applications, proofs of beneficial use, and subdivision maps. The incumbent manages the map table process including the technical and statutory review of water right applications and supporting maps submitted by professional engineers, professional land surveyors, and other agents; setting the map table and lunch duty schedules for engineering and technical staff; making decisions and providing guidance to subordinate staff as it relates to map table review; training and advising engineering and technical staff on performing map table review; and revising processes to improve accuracy of review and meet technological updates. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Current licensure as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) and one year of experience performing professional engineering work; OR one year of experience as a Professional Engineer in Nevada State service; OR current licensure as a Professional Engineer and an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Notes
    Persons appointed to this class on or after July 1, 1995, must be licensed as a Professional engineer in the State of Nevada; persons appointed prior to that date who are not licensed may not represent themselves as such to other persons or entities.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
    Registration as a Professional Engineer is required at the time of employment and as a condition of continuing employment.
