Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Information Technology (IT) Professionals analyze, develop, implement, maintain, and modify computer operations, systems, networks, databases, applications, and/or information security. Incumbents may perform duties in one or more IT specialization areas depending on the needs of the agency.
Incumbents perform journey level duties and may serve as a lead worker to lower level IT staff as assigned. This is a supervisory level for the Computer Operations function. Position location can be operated in Carson City or Las Vegas. This position will be for a journey level project manager who will be an understudy to senior project managers. This position will have the opportunity to learn and grow through understanding the established Project Management Office (PMO) processes, serving as backup project manager, and managing smaller Business Unit projects. This position will also handle the continued development and maintenance of the Project Management Office processes with the current best practices of project management and any automation processes identified which will provide business value to the Department and Division.
Incumbents manage projects of varying size, scope, and impact to agency operations to include serving as the project leader; planning, organizing, and directing project activities; resolving design conflicts; data administration; conduct research; track gathering of system and business requirements; help writing a variety of documents that include, but not limited to, Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), contracts, contract amendments, and related funding documents (e.g. Technology Investment Notifications (TIN) or Cloud Investment Notifications (CIN)). Incumbent will lead and/or participate in various work groups in support of a senior project manager and may be required to give presentations in order to meet the needs of an assignment; resource allocation; contract negotiation; timeline development; critical path tracking; justifying the need for additional resources; and coordination with other work units within and outside the organization as assigned. Incumbents function as the project lead on a continuing basis over assigned IT Professionals, IT Technicians, Business Process Analysts or other technical and/or business and administrative staff during the course of projects by assigning and reviewing work, scheduling, and training. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and two years of professional IT experience relevant to the duties of the position which may include computer operations, systems administration, network administration, database administration, applications analysis and development, and/or information security; OR two years of experience as an IT Professional I in Nevada State service; OR four years of relevant technical experience as an IT Technician IV or above in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
