The Department of Public Safety is recruiting for an Administrative Assistant IV to serve as a Digital Evidence Technician within our Evidence division. This position, under the supervision of the Property & Evidence Manager will primarily support aspects of digital evidence management. The scope of support for this position's duties involves training users, system monitoring, operation of the digital evidence system, assist evidence personnel with research and back-up evidence duties. The incumbent will receive, identify, classify, process, store, safeguard, disseminate, and purge digital evidence in accordance with state law and department policy. Respond to inquiries from Department personnel, courts, and other law enforcement agencies. Communicate effectively with management and instruct users on the steps to follow to correct any errors in submission of evidence. The incumbent will assist other evidence personnel with case disposition, purging of property, and any other duties as assigned. As a condition of employment, the incumbent must obtain NCIC/NCJIS certification within six months of employment and maintain certification every two years; obtain CPES certification within one year of employment and maintain certification through on-line courses.

Graduation from high school or equivalent education and four years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: providing administrative/program support to professional staff and management; performing secretarial duties in support of a manager; coordinating communications between the manager, staff and program clientele; supervision of subordinate staff; researching information from internal and external sources; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. |
