The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

Positions allocated to this series perform complex mathematical and statistical analysis on public health databases by applying statistical theories and principles to determine cause and effect relationships.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
Multiple positions within the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) in various Divisions, Office of Analytics. All positions are in Carson City, NV. These positions will assist with various analytic and data-relater in a range of initiatives. Incumbents are responsible for meeting all deadlines set. Positions allocated to this series perform complex mathematical and statistical analysis on public health databases by applying statistical theories and principles to determine cause and effect relationships. Positions in this job class also produce routine and special reports, completing data linkages using both exact and probabilistic matching procedures, and using SAS or analytic software programming and statistical methods to complete analyses on caseload-related data, health-related data, or other assigned data. Incumbents are responsible for developing strategies to ensure accuracy of data collected, providing routine and special analytical reports, completing data linkages, and using SAS, STATA, or other analytic software programming and statistical methods to complete analyses on related data. Under minimal supervision and training this position is responsible for the accurate and fast-paced nature of reporting data statewide to several internal and external stakeholders.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in statistics, mathematics or closely related field and one year of professional experience conducting statistical analysis including gathering and analyzing data from various sources using computer software; OR one year of experience as a Biostatistician I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Special Requirements
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
