The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

Information Technology (IT) Professionals analyze, develop, implement, maintain, and modify computer operations, systems, networks, databases, applications, and/or information security. Incumbents may perform duties in one or more IT specialization areas depending on the needs of the agency.
Under general direction, incumbents perform advanced journey level duties and may train, supervise, and evaluate the performance of subordinate staff and/or serve as a project leader as assigned. Incumbents may function as a unit leader to include directing the activities of a branch IT support unit, overseeing projects of limited scope, and coordinating activities with other work groups. This is a supervisory level for Computer Operations and the journey level for Information Security positions.
This position directly supports the DMV Transformation Effort (DTE) and focuses on Release Management to develop, analyze, implement, and maintain software release plans, schedules, planning and coordination of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
The incumbent will be responsible for creating effective platform release procedures; scheduling, planning, and controlling the software's development/delivery process; coordinating and managing releases across multiple applications; troubleshooting deployment issues; tracking and resolving impediments; risk assessment of the Salesforce/MuleSoft/AWS/Azure product suite deployments; keep software products moving through the SDLC; make improvements on a regular basis to the software release process; handle consistent, on-time delivery of high quality releases; identifying deficiencies and suggest solutions to identified product problems; collaborate with the Product Development, Application Testing teams and Key Stake Holders to ensure consistent continuous integration and continuous build delivery (CI/CD); monitor system implementation by participating in procedure development and evaluation; preparing step-by-step instructions for Platform Build Releases; present reports and metrics to Senior Management; analyze the regulatory environment by reviewing new and revised federal and State laws, regulations, and agency policies and interpreting their effect on the program area; analyzing needs and architecting solutions in the chosen environment; driving change, and participate in scrum teams and implementing new solutions.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and three years of professional IT experience relevant to the duties of the position which may include computer operations, systems administration, network administration, database administration, applications analysis and development, and/or information security, one year of which was at the journey level; OR one year of relevant experience as an IT Professional II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. |
