The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

Information Technology (IT) Professionals analyze, develop, implement, maintain, and modify computer operations, systems, networks, databases, applications, and/or information security. Incumbents may perform duties in one or more IT specialization areas depending on the needs of the agency.
Incumbents perform journey level duties and may serve as a lead worker to lower level IT staff as assigned. This is a supervisory level for the Computer Operations function.
The Division of Welfare and Supportive Services (DWSS) is currently recruiting for an IT Professional II/System Administrator position located in our Operations Unit in Carson City or Las Vegas. The incumbent will be a part of the Middleware Product Support Team responsible for administering software products that run on Windows, Linux and AIX Server platforms. The products supported by these servers are the backbone for multiple internal and public-facing web applications that support the citizens of Nevada. The ideal candidate will have experience with administering one or more of the following products: SAP BO, Perforce, ILMT, CA Workload, Java Batch, OTRS Ticketing and many other components of the IBM product suite (DB2, WebSphere, Datacap and Filenet).
Experience with SAP BO, Perforce, ILMT, CA Workload, Java Batch, OTRS Ticketing and many other components of the IBM product suite (DB2, WebSphere, Datacap and others) is preferred, but not required.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and two years of professional IT experience relevant to the duties of the position which may include computer operations, systems administration, network administration, database administration, applications analysis and development, and/or information security; OR two years of experience as an IT Professional I in Nevada State service; OR four years of relevant technical experience as an IT Technician IV or above in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. |
