Information Technology (IT) Professionals analyze, develop, implement, maintain, and modify computer operations, systems, networks, databases, applications, and/or information security. Incumbents may perform duties in one or more IT specialization areas depending on the needs of the agency.
Incumbents perform journey level duties and may serve as a lead worker to lower level IT staff as assigned. This is a supervisory level for the Computer Operations function.
The Division of Public and Behavioral Health is recruiting for an IT Professional 2. The Office of Information Technology Project Management Office is a dedicated and collaborative team that works well together to help the Division of Public and Behavioral Health. Utilizing industry standards and best practices, the incumbent will be responsible for the full scope of IT project management from inception through closure, business analysis of various technology systems and resultant recommendations, and the development and delivery of training for various on premise and hosted applications. Duties include performing IT project planning, management and documentation; providing project status reports to all stakeholders; establishing relationships with internal and external management and staff, stakeholders and vendors; developing training materials; and coordinating and delivering various levels of training. Project Management Professional, Professional in Business Analysis or equivalent certification is desired. The incumbent will work under general direction of the IT Manager I who serves as the Division's Project Management Office (PMO) portfolio manager.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and two years of professional IT experience relevant to the duties of the position which may include computer operations, systems administration, network administration, database administration, applications analysis and development, and/or information security; OR two years of experience as an IT Professional I in Nevada State service; OR four years of relevant technical experience as an IT Technician IV or above in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. |
