The Position
Administrative Assistants perform a broad variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties in an assigned agency, program or other work unit within State government and the Nevada System of Higher Education.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This position is Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm, may be flexed into a 7:00am to 3:30pm shift as they become available. This position is based in Carson City for the Division of Records, Communications and Compliance, Criminal Records Unit. Incumbents will perform specialized duties related to criminal records, including data entry and maintenance of all aspects related to criminal records, sealing record preparation and completion, criminal and disposition data entry, criminal record modification, and FBI disposition data entry. Additionally, this position is required to research, review and evaluate case information, provide information in a professional manner and maintain confidentiality. This position requires certification in NCJIS/NCIC within six months of employment and recertification every two years for continued employment. Certification will be conducted by the Division. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of clerical and administrative support experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintaining records and files; preparing a variety of materials using a personal computer or word processor; assisting customers in completing forms and applications; and/or performing secretarial duties in support of professional staff; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required.
    This position may require working evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
