Maintenance Repair Specialists perform a variety of skilled work in two or more of the mechanical and construction trades in order to repair, construct, and/or maintain buildings, grounds and equipment.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
This is a Maintenance Repair Specialist 2 in the Department of Administration, State Public Works Division, Buildings and Grounds section in Carson City. This position performs a variety of skilled work in two or more of the mechanical and construction trades in order to repair, construct, and/or maintain buildings, grounds and equipment. The incumbent will primarily be assigned to the Stewart facility and the Governor's Mansion assisting with maintenance and repairs. The position provides direct supervision to inmates in all phases of assigned work. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Four years of progressively responsible experience under the supervision of journey level trades persons in two or more of the major building or mechanical trades and one year of journey level experience which included responsibility for performing a variety of repair and maintenance activities, laying out jobs and ordering materials; OR one year of journey level experience as a Maintenance Repair Specialist I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. |

Incumbents may be required to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays in addition to their normal work schedules. |

A valid driver's license is required at time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. |

A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. |
