Management Analysts conduct a variety of studies, research and analysis of management and administrative areas such as budgeting and financial analysis; departmental operations; legislative analysis; management research; and statistical and informational analysis.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
Incumbent functions as a supervisor who train, supervise, and evaluate the performance of staff.
The position will be located in the Fiscal unit for the Division of Welfare and Supportive Services (DWSS) in Carson City, NV. The incumbent will conduct audits of records and reports regarding financial transactions to ensure they comply with state and federal guidelines as well as develop spreadsheets and other tools to help streamline workflow. Verify documentation and the calculations that support the transaction and ensure adherence to program objectives. Validate the expenditure is accurately coded to the appropriate funding source. The incumbent will compare expenditure documents with supporting documentation and enter transactions into the state financial system. The incumbent will research and resolve problems with vendor payments and other accounting issues, review and reconcile work done by others, and provide technical assistance to staff to resolve problems including reviewing and correcting errors. Qualified candidates should possess the ability to interpret and explain complex policy or procedure to a variety of constituents.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and two years of professional experience in the research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and four years of professional experience as described above; OR one year of experience as a Management Analyst I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. |
