The Position
Education Programs Directors, Supervisors, and Professionals assist and foster the growth of early childhood, pre-K, K-12, postsecondary, adult, and related education programs throughout Nevada by providing technical assistance, training, and oversight.
This is an Education Programs Professional position with the Nevada Department of Education's Office of Career Readiness, Adult Learning & Education Options (CRALEO) located in Carson City OR Las Vegas, Nevada. The Education Programs Professional oversees and carries out the functions, duties and responsibilities outlined in Education Programs Professional classification 5.232. Under the direction of the Director of CRALEO, this position is responsible for: (1) development, implementation, and monitoring of Teacher Academy College Pathway Program and Demonstration Programs; (2) curriculum development; (3) development of forms and informational brochures; (4) coordinate with relevant stakeholders regarding Demonstration Programs; and (5) other duties as assigned by CTE Director. The person in this position has, and must maintain, a strong working knowledge of state and federal statutes and regulations as they apply to CTE. This individual provides consistent technical assistance to Nevada's local education agencies (e.g., public school districts and charter schools), frequently working with and presenting CTE programmatic information and guidance to internal and external stakeholders. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Doctorate degree from an accredited university in business, economics, education, English, math, psychology, science, sociology, or related field and one year of professional experience in an educational program area, which included experience in at least one of the following areas related to the current vacancy: leading and managing a team that supports organizational goals; evaluating a program and/or program participants for compliance purposes or outcomes; developing and implementing a vision for desired outcomes; and/or communicating with diverse stakeholders across various platforms; OR Master's degree from an accredited university in business, economics, education, English, math, psychology, science, sociology, or related field and two years of professional experience as described above.
Special Requirements
    This position requires a Nevada teacher's license at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
    This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
The Examination

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. 2) Please describe your experience working with collecting, administering, analyzing, and reporting disaggregated secondary and postsecondary course and other program data (e.g., CTE Quality Program Review data) for the purpose of compiling, inspecting, transforming, and modeling CTE data with the goal of identifying useful information, forming potential state and local impact(s), recommendation(s) and conclusion(s). Include any specific career and technical education data related experience(s).
3) Please describe your experience using MS Excel to perform the data compilation, analysis and reporting responsibilities of this position.
4) Please describe your experience interpreting and applying applicable policies, procedures, laws, and regulations (e.g., programs, state purchasing).
