Custodial Supervisors plan, organize and direct the overall custodial and general building maintenance services for assigned facilities consisting of offices, classrooms, conference areas, special event centers and other facilities.
Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.
Under general supervision, a Custodial Supervisor I supervises a crew of 10 or fewer custodial workers. Custodial Supervisor Is frequently perform custodial and semi-skilled building maintenance duties, in addition to assigning and reviewing work, training, and evaluating the performance of assigned staff.
Additionally, a Custodial Supervisor I is a leader who oversees the custodial team and the cleanliness of buildings and facilities. A custodial supervisor I will be responsible for supervising, training, recruiting, and evaluating custodial staff, as well as assigning tasks, setting goals, and solving issues with the custodial staff and customer. They may also participate in or oversee the maintenance inspections, supply management, and event set-up.

Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of building custodial and general building maintenance work, one year of which must have included lead experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. |
