The Position
Maintenance Repair Workers perform semi-skilled work in the building and mechanical trades to repair, construct, and/or maintain buildings, facilities and equipment. 
Under general supervision, incumbents perform the range of duties described in the series concept. Routine tasks are performed independently, but complex semi-skilled work is typically performed in conjunction with a journey level trades worker or Maintenance Repair Specialists. This is the journey level in the series.
Position will be responsible for performing semi-skilled repair, construction, and/or building maintenance tasks on southern region buildings and facilities, as well as other regions of the state if required. Tasks may include, but are not limited to basic plumbing, repair valves, fixtures, sinks, toilets, drinking fountains, drains; basic carpentry framing, sheetrock, door repair, flooring, locks/keys, roof repair, painting; basic electrical work; instruct and supervise janitorial contractor; building exterior groundskeeping. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    One year of experience performing semi-skilled work in the building and/or mechanical trades; OR one year of experience as a Maintenance Repair Worker I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Special Requirements
    Some positions are subject to call-back after work hours and call-out on weekends and holidays. These positions will be identified at the time of recruitment.
The Examination

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. The hiring agency may require specific skills related testing as part of the interviewing process.
