The Position
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
The Nevada Department of Corrections has a vacancy for a Correctional Assistant within the Central Administration Division, in Carson City, Nevada. Incumbent will be responsible for the front lobby desk at the Central Administration building. Responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting with answering phones, sorting incoming and outgoing mail, assisting with FedEx and Ups deliveries and pickups. Incumbent will help assist with candidates for interviews for the administration division and all other customer service related requests. Incumbent will assist the Training Division with various projects and other duties as assigned by supervisor. High school graduation or equivalent and one year of work experience.

Incumbent must be available to work any shift or post assignment and must be willing to work overtime or short notice, as well as weekends and holidays; be recalled to work on regular days off or at other times in cases of emergency or staff shortages; and be placed on standby status if necessary.
Applicant must pass all phases of orientation training (during the probationary period or be subject to dismissal).
A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
