Maintenance Repair Specialists perform a variety of skilled work in two or more of the mechanical and construction trades in order to repair, construct, and/or maintain buildings, grounds and equipment.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
The Nevada Dept. Of Corrections has a vacancy for a Maintenance Repair Specialist 2 at Lovelock Correctional Center, in Lovelock, Nevada. The MRS 2 Specialist will be primarily assigned to the Central Plant, assisting with the maintenance, repair and monitoring of Central Plant equipment. Additionally, may be required to assist in other trade areas within the facility or at Carlin Conservation Camp.
This position is located at Lovelock Correctional Center in Lovelock, Nevada. Incumbents must be willing to work in this rural area, located 90 miles north of Reno, Nevada.

Four years of progressively responsible experience under the supervision of journey level trades persons in two or more of the major building or mechanical trades and one year of journey level experience which included responsibility for performing a variety of repair and maintenance activities, laying out jobs and ordering materials; OR one year of journey level experience as a Maintenance Repair Specialist I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. |

Incumbents may be required to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays in addition to their normal work schedules. |

A valid driver's license is required at time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. |

A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. |
