APPROXIMATE ANNUAL SALARY -  $78,884.64 to  $118,661.04  PAY GRADE: 42
The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Health Bureau Chiefs exercise direct control over the health program policy, planning, development, administration, and monitoring aspects of an assigned Health Division bureau.
Health Bureau Chief manage a bureau within the Health Division with diverse and multiple program areas, a large and multi-disciplinary professional staff, and complex funding sources and budgets. The Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) is hiring for a Health Bureau Chief in the Carson City or Las Vegas area. This position management of operations and is responsible for the ARPA oversight and authority unit including organizing the operations, services and staff of the unit. With support and oversight by a children's behavioral health Medical Epidemiologist, the Health Bureau Chief will define the priorities and out puts of the unit. This position will provide administrative and operational supervision over all staff in the ARPA oversight and authority unit. This position will serve as the lead interface and point of contact between community partners and unit staff and functions. This position will be required to have a full knowledge of the behavioral health care landscape for children and adolescents so that she/he may represent the State in discussions regarding best practices and policy trends.
This position is required to make complex choices, determinations, and judgments basis that will affect system and processes with widespread impact including state policy and legislation. This position is required to track, monitor, and analyze statistics including population-level syndromic surveillance statistics. This position is required to collaborate with other leaders across the Department of Health and Human Services, including the Department of Director, Division Administrators, Deputy Administrators, fiscal staff, legal staff, and so on. This has a key role in determining strategic direction for the children's behavioral health system. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree in public health, health care administration, business or public administration, health science, special education, social or behavioral science, human services or related field and six years of progressively responsible professional public health, health care policy, health administration, human services or related experience, three years of which included responsibility for program management functions such as policy research, management of complex funding sources and budgets, program planning and data analysis, and strategic planning; OR one year of experience as a Health Program Manager III in Nevada State service; OR two years of experience as a Health Program Manager II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Special Requirements
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
