Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Custodial Workers perform general cleaning services to State facilities using various cleaning equipment and materials to provide a safe, hygienic and orderly work environment.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
Southern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services (SNAMHS) is recruiting for a Custodial Worker II. This position is in the housekeeping department, located at Rawson-Neal Psychiatric Hospital, 1650 Community College Dr., Las Vegas, NV.
Custodial Workers perform general cleaning services to State facilities using various cleaning equipment and materials to provide a safe, hygienic, and orderly work environment.
Duties include perform various tasks related to restroom maintenance; clean and disinfect patient rooms, seclusion rooms, medication rooms, nursing stations, conference rooms, utility rooms, office areas, and various areas related to in-patient and out-patient care; maintain carpets, hard floors, walls, windows, vents, light fixtures, and touchable surfaces; empty trash receptacles, clean trash receptacles, and transport trash to containment areas.
This position will act as a Lead to the Custodial Supervisor with staffing and housekeeping projects. Work schedules range from 6:00 am to 10:30 pm and include weekends and holidays depending on the needs of the agency. The selected applicant must have current valid driver's license at time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of custodial or janitorial experience in a commercial, industrial, hospital, governmental or similar environment; OR six months of general work experience and one year of custodial or janitorial experience in a commercial, industrial, hospital, governmental or similar environment; OR six months of experience as a Custodial Worker I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Special Notes
Incumbents may be required to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays in addition to their normal work schedules.
Special Requirements
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
This position requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
