Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

Information Technology (IT) Professionals analyze, develop, implement, maintain, and modify computer operations, systems, networks, databases, applications, and/or information security. Incumbents may perform duties in one or more IT specialization areas depending on the needs of the agency.
Under general direction, incumbents perform advanced journey level duties and may train, supervise, and evaluate the performance of subordinate staff and/or serve as a project leader as assigned. Incumbents may function as a unit leader to include directing the activities of a branch IT support unit, overseeing projects of limited scope, and coordinating activities with other work groups. This is a supervisory level for Computer Operations and the journey level for Information Security positions.
This position will work with Windows and servers as well as Office 365. DIR resources are highly virtualized, therefore utilizing VMware and experience with VMware is required.
Other duties will include server backups & restores, network troubleshooting, system monitoring, and physical hardware installation including but not limited to PC's, laptops, and tablets. This position is responsible for backup and recovery, as well as routine network and server hardware. System health checks must be documented on a regular basis. Experience in COTs systems, application systems, databases and report writing are a plus. The position is responsible for daily user support and troubleshooting.
The ideal incumbent will be a forward-thinking integral member of the DIR team responsible for providing enterprise level support to all sections of DIR, the position will be responsible for ongoing technical support and operational maintenance of the enterprise environment under limited supervision and act as a subject matter expert. Good customer service skills are required, as well as the ability to communicate with technical and non-technical personnel clearly and effectively.
The incumbent will need to possess superior documentation skills, including the ability to train others. The incumbent should be a self-starter who can assess the Division's needs and develop an IT strategic plan to move the agency's mission forward.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and three years of professional IT experience relevant to the duties of the position which may include computer operations, systems administration, network administration, database administration, applications analysis and development, and/or information security, one year of which was at the journey level; OR one year of relevant experience as an IT Professional II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. |
