The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Electricians perform skilled electrical work to maintain and repair electrical systems and equipment.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This is a Journeyman level position located in the Reno/Sparks area on Crew 202-Faciltiy Management. The candidate must possess Journeyman card or be able to obtain a Journeyman card within the first 6 months from date of hire. The job duties include working with voltage that range from anywhere between 12 Volts up to and sometimes exceeding 480 Volts. Trouble shooting electrical shorts, and other building related electrical items, including install new services and electrical features. Travel will be required, sometimes up to 150 miles a day. Working in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and extreme cold. Will be required to work around live traffic, heavy equipment and in noisy environment. Work may be conducted within confined spaces or overhead above the roadway surfaces.
As part of the facility crew, this position will be assigned job duties that will assist the carpenter and maintenance repair specialist with daily tasks. The tasks are a wide variety of work such as concrete flatwork, troubleshooting HVAC, garage door maintenance and general building repairs.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Completion of a recognized electrician apprenticeship program; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
