The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

Personnel Technicians perform a wide variety of personnel activities including personnel records processing, recruitment and examining, new hire orientation, list certification, and payroll support duties.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, protects, manages, and enhances the State's resources to provide the highest quality of life for Nevada's citizens and visitors.
The Nevada Department of Conservation & Natural Resources with over 900 employees consists of the Director's Office and the following divisions: Environmental Protection, Conservation Districts, Forestry, State Lands, State Parks, Water Resources, Conservation Districts, Sagebrush Ecosystem, and the Natural Heritage Program. The Department also provides support staff to the Nevada Tahoe Regional Planning Agency and has responsibility for numerous other Boards, Commissions, and Councils. The Department has agencies and/or provides program services in every community of the State.
The Nevada Division of Forestry manages all forestry, nursery, endangered plant species, and watershed and natural resources through fire suppression and prevention programs and other emergency services. Main functional areas of the Division include Administration, Resource Management, Fire Management, the Conservation Camp Program, Air Operations, Support Services, Safety and Training, Fiscal, Incident Business, and Personnel.
The Personnel Technician II coordinates and oversees the services common to the Workers Compensation program for both the full-time and seasonal employees, as well as the inmates working in our Conservation Camps. It also audits all timesheets and Emergency Response Reports (ERR's) used by the Central Reporting Unit for compiling the fire billings. This position works closely with and backs up both the Administrative Assistant II (Payroll) and the Personnel Analyst II.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of technical personnel/payroll experience; OR one year of experience as a Personnel Technician I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. |

A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment. |
