APPROXIMATE ANNUAL SALARY -  $72,119.52 to  $108,221.04  PAY GRADE: 40
The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Licensed Professional Engineers provide professional services involving the application of engineering principles and data, or activities in connection with public or private utilities, structures, buildings, machines, equipment or projects impacting the public welfare or the safeguarding of life, health or property.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This position is located within the Adjudications Section of the Division of Water Resource in Carson City. Incumbent is primarily responsible for synthesizing documents and writing Orders for assigned adjudications; developing tables of relative rights determined to be valid, performing necessary field investigations to assist in determining the validity of proofs of appropriation; and reviewing incoming proofs of appropriations filed with the Division. Additional duties may include, but are not limited to, participating in hearings on objections to Preliminary Orders of Determination; assisting the manager and Attorney General in presenting evidence in District Court at Hearings on Orders of Determination; assisting the professional engineers in drafting Orders of Determination; assisting staff and the public with resolving problems relating to all aspects of the adjudication process; conducting field investigations for decreed sources; mediating conflicts over water rights; and administering and regulating decrees. Incumbent is also responsible for performing reviews of water rights applications submitted to the Division and all other duties assigned. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Current Licensure as a Professional Engineer (P.E.)
Special Requirements
    A valid drivers license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
    Registration as a Professional Engineer is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
Additional Position Criteria
    A current licensure as a Professional Engineer.
    Experience with technical report writing.
    Experience providing customer service.
The Examination

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. The hiring agency may require specific skills related testing as part of the interviewing process.
