JOB INFORMATION
Work Type: Permanent, full time vacancies as they may occur
in this geographical location.
Accounting Assistants perform clerical accounting work in the maintenance of accounts and accounting records for State agencies.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
Collects and posts payments from offenders; secures money orders and checks; performs reconciliations, balances and prepares bank deposits; submits monthly and yearly statistics to Fiscal Unit; searches and verifies information using restricted law enforcement data bases; enters data into multiple case management systems; provides customer service to offenders, officers and other legal system representatives. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or equivalent and one year of clerical experience, six months of which included duties such as accounts payable and/or accounts receivable and balancing accounts; and using computer spreadsheet to record, track and report data; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education supplemented by successful completion of a one-semester college course in bookkeeping and six months of clerical experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Special Requirements
Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, some positions in this series have been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in these positions must submit to pre-employment screening for controlled substances.
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required.
