The Position
Maintenance Repair Workers perform semi-skilled work in the building and mechanical trades to repair, construct, and/or maintain buildings, facilities and equipment. 
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others. The Maintenance Repair Worker III will perform general maintenance, repair, and construction work in and around homes, equipment, furnishings, grounds, and vehicles to assure a safe and pleasant environment that will support individuals in achieving the following outcomes: IDENTITY, AUTONOMY, AFFILIATION, ATTAINMENT, PERSONAL SAFETY, PERSONAL RIGHTS and PERSONAL HEALTH AND WELLNESS. Assuring the environment is safe and maintained helps individuals make choices as to their daily lives, to have access and use of their environment to live and participate in the community, to have a choice of services, have personal safety, and to have the best possible health.
Specific duties may include: performing preventative maintenance on Agency equipment such as appliances, furnaces, cooling compressors and vehicles. Other facility duties may include: general maintenance and construction, painting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, heating and cooling, furniture repair, roof repair, and other general duties. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Two years of experience performing semi-skilled work in a relevant building and/or mechanical trade; OR one year of experience as a Maintenance Repair Worker II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Notes
    This position requires working weekends and holidays.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
    A valid Class C Nevada driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.

Additional Position Criteria
    This position requires the ability to carry up to 50 pounds.
