Psychiatric Caseworkers monitor the treatment and progress of mentally ill or developmentally disabled clients, perform day treatment and psychosocial rehabilitation activities, and coordinate discharge and aftercare services, in an outpatient, inpatient, clinic, residential, treatment center, client's home and other community settings.

The Division of Public and Behavioral Health (DPBH), Rural Clinics is recruiting for a Psychiatric Case Worker 1 positions in Elko and Battle Mountain. This is an underfill for a Psychiatric Caseworker 2. Rural Clinics provides an array of outpatient behavioral health services for both adults and children in 16 clinics in 12 counties across Rural Nevada. Services are generally provided Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Services assist individuals to achieve self-sufficiency and recovery. This position assesses people's needs for any medical, educational, social or other services which can include vocational, financial (work), transportation and housing; monitors consumer and provider progress on care plan goals; referring consumer to appropriate services according to the plan of care in accordance with the State Medicaid Services Manual Chapter 2500 and with state laws, Division policies and agency procedures. This position understands housing/residential requirements, both at a state and federal level, and participates in meetings at the agency and clinic levels. This position also provides Rehabilitative Mental Health (RMH) services, such as Basic Skills Training (BST) and Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) services as prescribed through licensed personnel and in accordance with the State Medicaid Services Manual Chapter 400.
