The Position
Social Workers are licensed professionals who provide case management services to children, families, vulnerable adults with intellectual, developmental, physical disabilities, serious mental illness, and older adults (collectively referred to as "vulnerable adults") and other individuals within local communities and institutions.
The Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) is recruiting for a Social Worker 1 in Pahrump, Nevada. This recruitment may be used to underfill a Social Worker 3 position. Advancement to the next level in the series may occur after meeting minimum qualifications, satisfactory performance, and with endorsement of the appointing authority. This position is assigned to provide child welfare services to children and families to include but not limited to: conducting thorough assessments of families at SAFE Model specific times throughout the life of the case; assessing and managing for on-going safety threats throughout the life of the case; delivering strength-based family centered case management services to families that promote the safety and well-being and permanency of children; ensuring children have their medical, mental health, and educational needs met; ensuring case plans are developed and reviewed in accordance with policy and practice guidelines; and ensuring complete documentation of assessments, CFT's, monthly caseworker visits, court reports, social summaries, diligent search efforts, TPR packets and other pertinent paperwork.
This is a full-time position. This position includes a variable work agreement that will be scheduled to work hours and days different than 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday as needed. After hours on-call weekdays and weekends are paid overtime after 40 hours in a week. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Licensure or provisional licensure as a Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, Independent Social Worker or Associate in Social Work.
Special Requirements
    Working evenings, weekends, and/or holidays is required by the Division of Child and Family Services.
    A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
    The Division of Child and Family Services requires this position to be subject to on-call.
    Licensure or provisional licensure by the State of Nevada Board of Examiners for Social Workers as a Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, Independent Social Worker, or Associate in Social Work is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of employment.
