Clinical Social Workers provide clinical services to clients/inmates in a residential, home, inpatient, outpatient, rehabilitation, correctional or similar setting.
The Nevada Division of Child & Family Services (DCFS) is recruiting for a Clinical Social Worker 2 to be located at Desert Willow Treatment Center (DWTC) in Las Vegas, Nevada. DWTC is a locked, 24-hour inpatient facility that provides intensive treatment intervention for up to thirty-two severely emotionally disturbed (SED) adolescents (ages 12 through 17). DWTC serves youths that are severely at-risk, many of whom have active suicidal and homicidal ideation and behavior. This position provides direct care services to patients on the acute unit at DWTC and coordinates admissions, psychosocial assessment, 90-day reviews, treatment plans, CAFAS, and individual and group therapy. This position is integral to the presentation of treatment and determines service needs and treatment planning and implementation.
The Clinical Social Worker 2 position is critical to the operations of Desert Willow Treatment Center. Duties of this position are significant for the compliance with regulatory entities. This position works directly with the Senior Psychiatrist, Psychiatric Caseworker II, Psychiatric Nurse II, and Psychologist. This position is responsible for providing direct care services to patients; assisting in all admissions; providing individual, group, and family sessions; determining continued stay requirements in a hospital setting; is a major contributor in the Trans-disciplinary Treatment Team meetings; determines service needs and presenting problems, reviews treatment plan and progress with the patient and parent/guardian, and ensures clinical aspects of all discharge planning. The provision of these services are critical to patient care as it relates to ensuring comprehensive therapeutic care with the focus of integrating the patient back into the community.

Licensure as a Clinical Social Worker by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers.

Incumbents must obtain and maintain licensure or provisional licensure to engage in social work as a Clinical Social Worker or associate in social work in accordance with NRS Chapter 641B and the regulations adopted by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers. |

Persons employed by a government agency on July 1, 1988 as a social worker, supervisor of social work or administrator of social work who were performing clinical social work duties, and who possess a license to practice as an associate in social work and who meet the experience requirements are eligible to compete in the selection process for this series.
