The Position
Psychiatric Caseworkers monitor the treatment and progress of mentally ill or developmentally disabled clients, perform day treatment and psychosocial rehabilitation activities, and coordinate discharge and aftercare services, in an outpatient, inpatient, clinic, residential, treatment center, client's home and other community settings.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
DCFS is recruiting for a Psychiatric Caseworker II position within the Wraparound in Nevada (WIN) Program to be located in Las Vegas. This position will require intensive training, coaching and supervision. Wraparound in Nevada (WIN) is a community-based program that provides care coordination/targeted case management to children/youth with serious emotional disturbances who have complex needs across multiple domains. Psychiatric caseworks perform a variety of duties across community-based settings including youth and family homes. WIN utilizes a screening/assessment process in partnership with youth and families to determine their needs and the appropriate level of care coordination. Incumbent will perform a broad range of duties to include developing, coordinating, and monitoring youth and families plan of care. Incumbent will be coordinating and collaborating with community service providers, and partner with youth and family's immediate supports to develop and facilitate monthly child and family team meetings. Engage with youth, families, and team members weekly to monitor progress towards the identified goals and strategies. Complete all program related documentations which include 90-day reviews, 30-day plan of care updates, summaries, and billing notes. The Psychiatric caseworkers work with families to create positive outcomes including building hope for families, using the family's own ideas and monitoring if things are getting better. Incumbent will closely partner with the youth and family in developing a family driven plan of care including identified goals and strategies, maintain weekly contact with youth and family, and link to identified community supports and resources and monitor outcomes. Incumbent will coordinate and facilitate quarterly child and family team meetings, and complete all program related documentations which include 90-day reviews, 30-day plan of care updates, summaries, and billing notes. This is a full-time position that includes a variable work agreement of 40 hours per week. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, or closely related human services field and two years of experience in a mental health or intellectual disabilities setting, one year of which must have included professional casework experience providing psychosocial rehabilitation services for a caseload consisting predominantly of individuals with mental illness or developmental disabilities; OR one year as a Psychiatric Caseworker I in Nevada State Service; OR an equivalent combination of experience and education above the bachelor's degree level.
Special Requirements
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
    A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
