Administrative Assistants perform a broad variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties in an assigned agency, program or other work unit within State government and the Nevada System of Higher Education.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
This position serves as the Lead Admissions Specialist at the Battle Born Youth ChalleNGe Academy. The Battle Born Youth ChalleNGe Academy rovides a non-traditional education through a quasi-military accredited learning environment. The target population are high school dropouts, and students that are credit deficient and not on track to graduate with their cohort. The educational purpose shall include the opportunities to earn a HiSET or certified high school credits through a partnership with Elko County School District and either earn a diploma or re-enroll with the goal to graduate from their high school. The program's mission is to reclaim the potential of qualified and resilient youth through education, training and service to the community. Primary responsibilities are to oversee Cadet and Mentor recruitment and screening. This involves development and distribution of marketing materials, building relationships with stakeholders, coordinating program presentations across the state, as well as compilation and reporting of outreach initiatives among the Admissions team members. Graduation from high school or equivalent education and four years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: providing administrative/program support to professional staff and management; performing secretarial duties in support of a manager; coordinating communications between the manager, staff and program clientele; supervision of subordinate staff; researching information from internal and external sources; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. |
