Education Programs Directors, Supervisors, and Professionals assist and foster the growth of early childhood, pre-K, K-12, postsecondary, adult, and related education programs throughout Nevada by providing technical assistance, training, and oversight.
This Education Programs Professional position is with the Nevada Department of Education's Office of Career Readiness, Adult Learning & Education Options (CRALEO) located in Carson City OR Las Vegas.
The Education Programs Professional oversees and carries out the functions, duties and responsibilities outlined in Education Programs Professional classification 5.232.
Under the direction of the Director of CRALEO, this position is responsible for:
(1) overseeing the administration of one or more Nevada's Career and Technical Education's (CTE) program areas;
(2) providing technical assistance strategies and activities to maintain, improve, and develop CTE programs at the secondary and postsecondary levels;
(3) providing technical assistance strategies and activities to maintain, improve and develop work-based learning (WBL) programs;
(4) overseeing federal Perkins grant compliance development and monitoring;
(5) coordination of CTE program certifications and assessments; and
(6) other duties as assigned by CTE Director.
The incumbent must have and maintain a strong working knowledge of state and federal statutes and regulations as they apply to CTE. This individual provides consistent technical assistance to Nevada's local education agencies (e.g., public school districts and charter schools), frequently working with and presenting CTE programmatic information and guidance to internal and external stakeholders. Travel is required to do CTE grants monitoring; Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) engagement; and provide CTE technical assistance, guidance, and presentations. Doctorate degree from an accredited university in business, economics, education, English, math, psychology, science, sociology, or related field and one year of professional experience in an educational program area, which included experience in at least one of the following areas related to the current vacancy: leading and managing a team that supports organizational goals; evaluating a program and/or program participants for compliance purposes or outcomes; developing and implementing a vision for desired outcomes; and/or communicating with diverse stakeholders across various platforms; OR Master's degree from an accredited university in business, economics, education, English, math, psychology, science, sociology, or related field and two years of professional experience as described above. |
