The Position
Under direction of the Nevada State Office of Energy (NSOE) Director, the Energy Outreach Coordinator performs and coordinates the public information campaigns and marketing strategies for the energy efficiency and energy conservation programs relating to State buildings, schools and transportation issues, and renewable energy programs. The incumbent will perform duties such as: manage agency information and program marketing for programs; prepare and coordinate media-related activities such as interviews, press releases, and events; provide assistance and guidance in preparing multi-media presentations for Governor's Office of Energy (GOE) staff as well as materials for these events; perform research to update information for agency reports; prepare the annual Status of Energy Report for the Agency as required by statute; participate on various committees and boards as needed; educate the public with informational and marketing campaigns; respond to constituent requests and public records requests; provide technical assistance to the office and organize and maintain the GOE website and platforms; monitor energy media stories and maintain the agency's social media presence; communicate the agency's message, mission, goals, and program details as appropriate to target audiences; ensure consistency not only within the agency but across the state in dealing with the public and accurately presenting the priorities established by the Office of the Governor; and develop partnerships and collaborative relationships with the community, private parties, stakeholders and other governmental entities which are essential to move important policies forward; establish the methodology and schedule for providing public information updates appropriately and in a timely manner.
The incumbent will collaborate with other Outreach Coordinators or Public Information Officers across the state when necessary; monitor and create new social media content; arrange press conferences and notify media representatives of newsworthy events; collect articles, recordings of radio and television newscasts and other informational releases pertaining to the agency; plan, organize and publicize special events to provide information regarding agency services and activities; develop and maintain the public communications portion of the departmental crisis disaster response plan, serve as the agency spokesperson during crisis or emergency situations; and perform related duties as assigned. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in marketing, communications, public relations, business administration, advertising or related field and three years of marketing, public relations or communications experience which included working with multiple stakeholder groups, managing resources, and developing marketing campaigns and strategies; OR graduation from high school and five years of marketing, public relations or communications experience which included working with multiple stakeholder groups, managing resources and developing marketing campaigns and strategies; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.
The Examination

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience.
