Registered Nurses provide general or specialized professional nursing care in accordance with the authorized scope of practice specified in the Nurse Practice Act.
Northern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services (NNAMHS) is recruiting for a Nurse 1 at Dini Townsend Hospital, a 24-hour hour facility in Sparks, Nevada providing a combination of inpatient and outpatient services for psychiatric patients. This recruitment may be used to underfill a Psychiatric Nurse 2 position. Advancement to the next level in the series may occur after meeting the minimum qualifications, satisfactory performance, and with endorsement of the appointing authority. Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required to provide professional nursing care to mentally ill individuals; identify patient care requirements; prepare nursing assessments and treatment plans; participate as an integral member of the treatment team; administer medication; design and deliver educational programming; and assume responsibility for patient health and well-being. Dini Townsend Hospital is held to Joint Commission standards of operation.
Incumbent must be capable and willing to work any regularly assigned shift, including night shift.

Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse; OR an Interim Permit issued by the Nevada State Board of Nursing. |

Per NRS 632.305, the Nevada State Board of Nursing may, after verifying that an applicant meets all licensure requirements, issue an Interim Permit authorizing the applicant to practice nursing until the results of their examination for licensure are received. The Interim Permit is for a period not to exceed 90 days and is immediately revoked if a candidate fails the examination. Passing the licensure examination is a requirement for continuing employment. Any person working under the authority of an Interim Permit may not represent himself or herself as a licensed registered nurse. |

Out of state applicants must have a temporary license issued by the Nevada State Board of Nursing at the time of appointment. |

A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. |

CPR certification is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. |
