The Position
Custodial Supervisors plan, organize and direct the overall custodial and general building maintenance services for assigned facilities consisting of offices, classrooms, conference areas, special event centers and other facilities.
Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action. This position supports SOUTHERN NEVADA ADULT MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES (SNAMHS) in the Housekeeping Department, located at 1650 Community College Drive in Las Vegas. Our Agency's mission is to help adults with mental illness improve their quality of life. The position supervises a Custodial Worker II staff of up to 13, responsible for maintaining and cleaning 180 bed hospital facility that operates 24/7.
The incumbent will ensure assigned staff provide daily cleaning, sanitation, and maintenance within infection control standards, and in compliance with CMS and The Joint Commission; inspect and assist with floor upkeep, daily cleaning of patient rooms, nursing stations, common areas and bathrooms; and ensure security and safety of work area by ensuring that windows, doors and/or access ways are properly secured. This is a full-time position that may include holiday, evening and weekend shifts. Incumbent will be working an innovative variable schedule serving the day shift with overtime after 40 hours per week. As a condition for continued employment, the selected candidate must complete and maintain all position and agency required trainings and certifications, including respirator fit testing and Certification in Conflict Prevention and Response Training which the agency provides. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of building custodial and general building maintenance work, one year of which must have included lead experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
The Examination

CUSTODIAL SUPERVISOR 1
The exam will consist of a rating of training and experience weighted 100%. It is essential that applications include extensively detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. Your score will be based on the information provided in your application and your responses to the questions asked below. If there are several parts to a question, answer each part separately. Along with each answer, identify the position(s) and/or training (as described in your application) where you gained the background asked for in the question. Absence of experience/training asked for in a question is not necessarily disqualifying. Failure to answer the questions will result in a score based solely on the application.

4) List all completed OSHA or other safety training in janitorial or maintenance procedures.
