This recruitment serves as an underfill for an Unemployment Insurance Representative 3 for the Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation (DETR) in Carson City. Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation.
Incumbents interview claimants, employers and any third party necessary to obtain required facts and information; apply appropriate sections of State laws and regulations, administrative policies and procedures to determine case outcomes; interpret and explain laws, procedures, policies and requirements to unemployment insurance claimants and employers. The successful candidate will have a strong background in one or more of the following areas: eligibility determination, providing social services to the public, adjusting insurance claims or making determinations on Workers' Compensation claims. This position may be required to work weekends or hours outside of the traditional 8:00 am to 5:00 pm schedule. A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in any field; OR two years of journey level technical or paraprofessional experience in the field in which the applicant is to be trained. |
