The Position
Supply Technicians participate in the procurement, receipt, storage, issuing, shipment, property control, inventory, and recordkeeping for a wide variety of assets to include, but not limited to, the following: property, equipment, services, food, forms, parts and supplies. Incumbents work in a warehouse, stockroom or office setting and prepare and process documents for the requisition, purchase, receipt, issuance and transfer of goods; expedite the flow of goods from vendor to user; and maintain control records for a variety of property and equipment.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others. Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.
This position is located within the Equipment Division, Las Vegas. Incumbent will purchase, receive, and ship supplies; inventory materials; and maintain related records. Duties include material handling and operating equipment such as a forklift, pallet jack, and dolly in order to receive freight, parcel posts, UPS, and FedEx deliveries; process purchase orders invoices, charge accounts for payment; maintain audit trails between purchase orders and requisitions; and reconcile purchase credit card statement with invoices and transaction log. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of stocking, storeroom or warehouse experience which included purchasing a variety of supplies, equipment and materials, maintaining inventory records, inventory storage and handling, and shipping and receiving materials and equipment; OR one year of experience as a Supply Technician I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Additional Position Criteria
    The hours for this position are Tuesday through Friday, 6:00am - 4:30pm.
    A pre-employment criminal history check is required for this position. Continuing employment is dependent upon successful completion of this process.
    This position requires a valid driver's license at time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
The Examination

SUPPLY TECHNICIAN 2 (02.824) Training and Experience Exam
The exam will consist of a rating of training and experience weighted 100%. It is essential that applications include extensively detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. Your score will be based on the information provided in your application and your responses to the questions asked below. If there are several parts to a question, answer each part separately. Along with each answer, identify the position(s) and/or training (as described in your application) where you gained the background asked for in the question. Absence of experience/training asked for in a question is not necessarily disqualifying. Failure to answer the questions will result in a score based solely on the application.

1) Describe your purchasing and/or ordering experience for a wide variety of supplies and equipment. Include the type of item(s) in your description.
2) Describe your inventory experience of a wide range of supplies and equipment as listed in question number one.
3) Describe your experience with shipping and receiving for a large operation or department.
4) Describe your computerized inventory system experience.
5) Describe your experience interpreting federal and State purchasing and property inventory laws, rules and regulations.
