The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

JOB INFORMATION
Work Type: Permanent, part time vacancies as they may occur
Statewide.
Public Service Interns receive training and complete a variety of assignments in staff activities directly relating to their major course of study while enrolled in an educational institution.
Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation. This is a part time position working 20 to 30 hours weekly. Hours may include evenings and weekends. This position will be located in either Carson City or Las Vegas, depending on the candidate chosen. Occasional travel to other nearby worksites may be required.
The Information Technology (IT) Public Service Intern 2 will provide agency end users with technical assistance, training, and support on computer related issues. They will be helping users with both hardware and software issues and will work with users in-person and remotely via telephone or email. Candidates will identify, research, and resolve technical problems. This position may assist other IT technicians or professionals in the deployment of new equipment and software. Sound judgment, decision making and trouble shooting skills are needed. Knowledge in Microsoft Office suite and Windows 10 is needed. This position may assist with the hosting of video conferences. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree related to the field of employment and enrollment and continued successful performance in an academic graduate program related to the field of employment at an accredited college or university.
Special Notes
Employment is not to exceed six months from the date of graduation.
Employment in this class will not lead to permanent status in State service.
Special Requirements
A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
Additional Position Criteria
Applicants must be successfully enrolled in a Master's degree (or higher) program for an IT related degree. Transcripts MUST be attached to your application.
