Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Statisticians gather statistical and other data and perform routine analysis and computations; compile reports and prepare charts, graphs, maps and diagrams to display the data and analysis.
Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation.
This position is for the Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation, Research & Analysis Bureau located in Carson City. The incumbent is primarily responsible for assigning industry and area codes to new firms as part of the Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW) program processing. This includes calling, faxing, e-mailing or otherwise communicating with Nevada employers to derive or verify information related to industry classification as well as employment and wage data; performing online research related to the primary work performed by employers at specific locations; and correctly entering and updating data in the QCEW database system. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Associate's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in economics, mathematics, statistics or closely related field and two years of experience assisting in the preparation, collection and analysis of data; and preparing visual displays using computer software; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of experience as described above; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
