The Position
Social Workers are licensed professionals who provide case management services to children, families, the elderly, and other individuals within local communities and institutions.
Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.
The Nevada Department of Veterans Services, Southern Nevada State Veterans Home (SNSVH) is recruiting for a Social Work Supervisor 1, located in Boulder City. The Social Work Supervisor 1 is responsible for overseeing the Social Services program within the SNSVH through direct interventions or through monitoring and reviewing issues, projects, and concerns with staff social workers. The Social Work Supervisor 1 reviews assessments of assigned cases written by staff social workers; monitors and reviews care plans for completeness, accuracy and effectiveness; assures completions of MDS sections by scheduled deadlines. Duties also include overseeing the discharge plans of each resident within the SNSVH; ensures residents are assisted with adjustment issues; responsible for the investigation of all allegations related to resident abuse, neglect, or misappropriation of resident funds; provide in-service education to staff, family members, and the community. **Please ensure your application reflects your current social work license information. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Licensure or provisional licensure as a Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, Independent Social Worker or Associate in Social Work and one year of journey level professional experience providing case management in a social work setting equivalent to a Social Worker II in Nevada State service.
Special Requirements
    This position is subject to call-out or call-back.
    A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
    Licensure or provisional licensure by the State of Nevada Board of Examiners for Social Workers as a Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, Independent Social Worker, or Associate in Social Work is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of employment.
