Positions in this series provide care, training, and treatment to children and adolescents with behavioral and emotional disturbances in a 24-hour/7-day a week treatment home setting.
Incumbents supervise and evaluate the performance of lower level professionals and support staff, schedule and assign work, and provide training and coaching.
The Nevada DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES (DCFS) is recruiting for a Treatment Home Supervisor (THS) to be located in Sparks, NV. This position provides care, training and treatment to children and adolescents with behavioral and emotional disturbances in a 24 hour/7 day a week Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility. Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) North serve children between 12 - 17 years of age. Youth served by PRTF Enterprise are designated as Severely Emotionally Disturbed (SED) and have an Axis I diagnosis. Youth placed exhibit significant behavioral challenges including physical and verbal aggression, non-compliance, challenges to authority figures, school problems (academic and behavioral), peer and social difficulties, and family issues.
THSs provide oversight of the daily operations of their assigned treatment home ensuring adequate staff to client coverage, adherence to treatment plans, maintenance of documentation as required by licensing, Medical and compliance with treatment model implementation and all issues and tasks related to the functioning of the PRTF.
THSs supervise and evaluate the performance of lower level professionals and provide coaching and training of staff, THSs will ensure that parents are involved with the program encouraging them to work with their child and staff in order to learn how to better manage their child's behaviors and mental health needs at home. THSs facilitate groups that focus on aggression replacement training, interaction and problem solving, and empowerment skills. THSs are responsible for overseeing the admission process, treatment while in the program, and discharge process. Supervisors perform periodic quality reviews. THSs implement therapeutic interventions with youth and provide individual and group Basic Skills Training and Psychosocial Rehab Skills. THSs act as liaisons with schools and other providers. THSs possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency in the area of children's emotional and behavioral mental health sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in education, child development, psychology, counseling, social work, or closely related field and two years of experience in the care, training, and/or treatment of children or adolescents with behavioral and emotional disturbances; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience above the bachelor's degree level. |

A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment. |

Working on evenings, weekends, and/or holidays is required. |
|
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. |
