Administrative Assistants perform a broad variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties in an assigned agency, program or other work unit within State government and the Nevada System of Higher Education.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. Come join our amazing team! The Nevada Division of State Lands is seeking an energetic, responsible, and highly-motivated individual to serve as the Administrative Assistant II to the Division of State Lands. Nevada Tahoe Resource Team (NTRT). The NTRT is housed in the Division of State Lands and dedicated to preserving and enhancing the natural environment in the Lake Tahoe Basin. The NTRT coordinates and implements a wide range of projects to improve water quality, restore natural watercourses, improve forest health and wildlife habitat, and provide recreational opportunities at Lake Tahoe.
This position performs a broad range of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties for the Division of State Lands and the NTRT. Duties include maintaining financial records and files; composing and editing correspondence; data entry; office management; budget monitoring and accounts maintenance; typing and word processing; answering telephones and relaying information; reception; duplicating and distributing materials; ordering and stocking supplies and equipment; receiving, sorting and delivering mail; reviewing and processing staff travel and training forms and other documents; and operating office equipment such as copiers, personal computers, calculators, facsimile machines, printers, and other equipment. In addition, this position tracks budget balances, prepares accounts payable and receivable documents, assigns accounting codes in compliance with established rules, regulations and procedures which may include contractual and grant limitations; reconciles internal records; and provides reports to the Controller's Office. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of clerical and administrative support experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintaining records and files; preparing a variety of materials using a personal computer or word processor; assisting customers in completing forms and applications; and/or performing secretarial duties in support of professional staff; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. |
