The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

JOB INFORMATION
Work Type: Permanent, full time vacancies as they may occur
in this geographical location.
Drivers operate various types of motor vehicles such as shuttle buses, automobiles, vans, or light trucks to transport people and/or materials to and from specified locations in accordance with established agency policies and safe driving practices.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others. This position supports SOUTHERN NEVADA ADULT MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES (SNAMHS) in the Rawson-Neal Psychiatric Hospital located at 1650 Community College Drive, in Las Vegas. Our Agency's mission is to help adults with mental illness improve their quality of life. Through a team approach, we provide innovative inpatient and outpatient mental health services for the Southern Nevada community. Some of the valuable services we provide include Psychiatric Emergency Services, Inpatient Services, Outpatient Counseling, Service Coordination, Intensive Service Coordination, Medication Clinic, Residential Support Programs, Mental Health Court, Consumer Advocacy and Programs for Assertive Community Treatment (PACT) teams. Inpatient services are provided through the new Rawson-Neal Psychiatric Hospital and through the Stein Forensic Hospital. Outpatient services are provided through three mental health clinics located throughout the community and two additional Clark County Clinics, one located in Laughlin and the other in Mesquite. We are accredited by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations. SNAMHS is an exciting place to work with emphasis on utilizing the recovery model, developing innovative programs, increasing consumer and family involvement, educating the public through a variety of activities, and implementing a best practices clinical program.
This position is responsible for safely transporting clients to and from scheduled appointments, using State vehicles; accompany/transport clients to discharge locations; act as a role model for clients with mental illness, by demonstrating appropriate behavior and safe driving techniques; provide courier services for the agency; coordinate/schedule the timely retrieval and timely delivery of various materials, including confidential and legal documents; clean exterior of vehicle; perform basic vehicle maintenance checks; maintain vehicle maintenance logs; schedule vehicle maintenance and repairs as recommended by the manufacturer; maintain records related to trips; maintain current knowledge and ensure compliance with applicable State and federal traffic, vehicle and safety laws; and ensure compliance with Joint Commission and CMS standards, as well as established laws, regulations and SNAMHS policies. This is a full-time position with an anticipated work schedule of 8 am-5 pm, Monday through Friday, with weekends off.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Two years of motor vehicle driving experience.
Special Requirements
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment for Driver - Van/Automobile positions.
Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances.
Additional Position Criteria
This position requires two years of motor vehicle driving experience.
