The Division of Public & Behavioral Health (DPBH) is recruiting for a Health/Human Services Professional Trainee within the Health Care Quality & Compliance Program (HCQP) in Las Vegas, Nevada. This recruitment maybe used to underfill a Health Facilities Inspector 2 position. Advancement through the series may occur after meeting the minimum qualifications, satisfactory performance, and with endorsement of the appointing authority.
This position conducts on/off-site state licensure and compliance inspections of exempt, registered, and licensed laboratories throughout Nevada that are licensed and/or certified by HCQP. Duties include evaluating compliance with standards, state and federal statutes and regulations through the inspection process, utilizing record review, interviews, and observations; completing all required inspection activity documents; preparing follow-up documents to finish the formal inspection report process in the ACO/ACTS systems; providing information and education to advisory committees, community members (consumers), and laboratory personnel to assure regulatory compliance and improve quality of care and services; and establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with a variety of individuals and groups including positive collaboration with sister State agencies. Must be able to meet defined deadlines, work well in a team environment or alone, and communicate clearly in English.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, early childhood development, psychology, public health, special education, nursing, or other discipline directly related to the field in which the applicant is to be trained; OR two years of journey level technical or paraprofessional experience in the field in which the applicant is to be trained. (NOTE: some jobs strictly require a bachelor's degree). |
