Prison Industries Supervisors manage, plan, organize and supervise operation(s) of Prison Industries program(s) and ensure their profitable operation.
Incumbents function as managers who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors; develop policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives.
This position is located at Southern Desert Correctional Center (SDCC), in Indian Springs, Nevada.
Incumbent manages, plans, organizes and supervises daily operations of the Prison Industries' auto shop. This position requires proficient skills and expertise in auto body/paint, electrical, mechanical, upholstery, metal fabrication/welding, and wood finishing. The incumbent will also have responsibility for repair estimation costs, troubleshooting, research, development and design; and identifying location of auto parts. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration or closely related field and two years of supervisory experience in a business environment producing manufactured goods or providing services including setting production/work schedules, recordkeeping, and ensuring the availability of required materials, supplies, equipment and tools; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and four years of experience as described above; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. |

Experience supervising automotive operations to include auto body/paint, electrical, mechanical, upholstery, metal fabrication/welding and wood finishing is required. |
