Clinical Social Workers provide clinical services to clients/inmates in a residential, home, inpatient, outpatient, rehabilitation, correctional or similar setting.
This position is located with Northern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services (NNAMHS) in Sparks, Nevada. The designated shift is Monday through Friday but incumbents may share the responsibility of covering weekends and holidays. Incumbents require a working knowledge of theories and principles of individual and group psychotherapy; symptoms, characteristics and treatment of mental illness, substance abuse, emotional and behavioral disorders; crisis intervention techniques; case management practices and procedures; psycho-diagnostic techniques; laws governing abuse and neglect. Incumbents must have the ability to assess, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans and goals; write comprehensive evaluations, reports, and recommendations; conduct risk assessments, and demonstrate competency within the civil court process.
Incumbents will actively participate on an interdisciplinary treatment team; coordinate community services for patients while assuming the ultimate responsibility for discharge planning. Incumbents will demonstrate strong writing skills, be an effective communicator, exercise the highest of ethical standards, practice effective time management, and demonstrate multi-tasking capability and flexibility. With emphasis on the recovery model, patient care is delivered through an interdisciplinary team approach with teamwork being a must. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Licensure as a Clinical Social Worker by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers.

Incumbents must obtain and maintain licensure or provisional licensure to engage in social work as a Clinical Social Worker or associate in social work in accordance with NRS Chapter 641B and the regulations adopted by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers. |

A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. |

A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. |
