The Position
Social Workers are licensed professionals who provide case management services to children, families, vulnerable adults with intellectual, developmental, physical disabilities, serious mental illness, and older adults (collectively referred to as "vulnerable adults") and other individuals within local communities and institutions.
The Division of Child and Family Service's (DCFS's), Child Welfare section is recruiting for a Social Worker 3 in Elko, NV. Child Welfare Social Worker positions are assigned to provide child welfare services to children and families to include but not limited to: conducting thorough assessments of families at SAFE Model specific times throughout the life of the case; assessing for and managing on-going safety threats throughout the life of the case; delivering strength-based family centered case management services to families that promote the safety and well-being and permanency of children; ensuring children have their medical, mental health, and educational needs met; ensuring case plans are developed and reviewed in accordance with policy and practice guidelines; documenting assessments, attending child and family team meetings, performing monthly caseworker visits, preparing court reports and social summaries, contributing diligent search efforts, completing termination of parental rights (TPR) packets, and other pertinent paperwork. A current Nevada Social Work license is a requirement for employment. This position includes a variable work agreement and will be scheduled to work hours and days different than 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday as needed. After hours, on-call weekdays, and weekends are paid overtime after 40 hours in a week.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Licensure or provisional licensure as a Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, Independent Social Worker or Associate in Social Work and one year of professional experience providing case management in child protective services, foster care services and/or adoption services in a social work setting equivalent to a Social Worker I in Nevada State service.
Special Requirements
    This position is subject to call-out or call-back.
    Working evenings, weekends, and/or holidays is required.
    A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
    Licensure or provisional licensure by the State of Nevada Board of Examiners for Social Workers as a Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, Independent Social Worker, or Associate in Social Work is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of employment.
