Mental Health Counselors provide counseling, case management, direct clinical services, community and home based services, and behavioral and human services to mentally ill, developmentally disabled and/or emotionally disturbed clients in an outpatient, residential, community or similar setting.
The Division of Public and Behavioral Health: Rural Clinics (RC) is recruiting for a full-time Mental Health Counselor 3, Clinic Director, located in Ely, Nevada. Rural Clinics provides an array or outpatient behavioral health services for both adults and children in 16 clinics in 12 counties across Rural Nevada. Services are generally provided Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Services assist individuals to achieve self-sufficiency and recovery. Any position that requires licensure to provide clinical services must be maintained, without lapses and be in good standing with subsequent boards.
The Mental Health Counselor 3 position will direct an outpatient behavioral health service delivery program by following established goals, objectives, policies, procedures and ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws. The incumbent will manage/supervise diverse personnel including mentoring and training personnel to enhance service provision, including evidence-based treatment, crisis/emergency services and skills development; collaborate with other state and community services and entities to assure coordination of care in compliance with state laws and agency procedures.; conduct intakes and make eligibility determinations; complete required paperwork and entry into Avatar; and provide direct individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, or psycho-educational groups.
There is a preference that the successful incumbent have a clinical license such as a CSW, CPC, or MFT but licensure is not mandatory.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Master's degree from an accredited college or university in counseling, marriage and family therapy, psychology, social work or closely related academic field and three years of post-master's degree professional mental health counseling experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and clinical experience at or above a master's degree and experience as described above. |
