The Position
Driver Warehouse Workers receive and store freight, load transporting vehicles, and deliver and pick up supplies, materials, and equipment.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. This position is located at Northern Nevada Correctional Center in Carson City.
Delivery is an essential function to the operation of Prison Industries as revenues cannot be collected until customers receive their products. The driver is utilized throughout the state to deliver furniture, mattresses, garments, and other supplies. The driver is also tasked with assembling the furniture once it is delivered, which is crucial to most businesses and state agencies. Often, deliveries are large and somewhat complicated, and the driver must oversee a crew of inmates. The State of Nevada is committed to Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action in recruitment of its employees and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion or belief, age, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, pregnancy, domestic partnership, genetic information (GINA), or compensation and/or wages. ***THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME BASED ON THE AMOUNT OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED.
