Custodial Supervisors plan, organize and direct the overall custodial and general building maintenance services for assigned facilities consisting of offices, classrooms, conference areas, special event centers and other facilities.
Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action. The Nevada Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) is recruiting for a Custodial Supervisor I at the Desert Willow Treatment Center (DWTC), a 32-bed staff secure facility for male and female youth age 12 to 18. The DWTC goal is to promote positive self-growth, create change in behavior, attitudes, values, and ways of thinking for youth. Under the direction of the Facility Supervisor and the Administrative Services Officer III, the Custodial Supervisor I will plan, organize, direct, and perform general custodial and ground maintenance services according to the demands for Desert Willow Treatment Center and the DCFS Campus.
The position requires inspections throughout the buildings and grounds of the facility and of all custodial equipment, supplies and chemicals. The Custodial Supervisor I will establish cleaning schedules and subsequent quality assurance for all buildings and areas within the DCFS Campus; prepare and maintain a variety of records and reports including inventory, usage reports, maintenance logs/reports, safety and accident reports, and other mandated reports as directed; and will maintain, research, and order materials, equipment and supplies and will perform related duties as assigned. The Custodial Supervisor I will be expected to fill in for staff shortages when required, participate in Environment of Care meetings and, be an integral part of the Quality Assurance Plan including all required paperwork. This position must maintain strict oversight of Infection Controls, chemicals, supplies and SDS.
This is a full-time position that includes a variable work agreement that may be scheduled to work hours and days different than 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with overtime after 40 hours per week. Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of building custodial and general building maintenance work, one year of which must have included lead experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

This position requires working evenings, weekends, holidays and mandatory overtime. |
