Administrative Assistants perform a broad variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties in an assigned agency, program or other work unit within State government and the Nevada System of Higher Education.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
This is an Administrative Assistant 4 position with the Department of Administration, State Public Works Division located in Carson City. This position acts as the assistant to the Administrator of the State Public Works Division. The incumbent is responsible for acting as a liaison to the State Public Works Board, attending Board meetings, preparing all meeting materials, posting notices, coordinating and archiving meeting minutes, and working closely with the Division's Deputy Attorney General for regulation of hearings and appeal hearings in addition to regular meetings. Incumbent will have frequent exposure and contact with members of all branches of government, including high-level officials and will archive and retrieve the Administrator's business documents. This position will keep the Administrator apprised of upcoming meetings and events and is responsible for completion of all Agency reports. The incumbent will assist the Administrator and staff in preparation of Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) and will track and monitor legislative bills during legislature. This position may be required to work varied shifts or workdays. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Graduation from high school or equivalent education and four years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: providing administrative/program support to professional staff and management; performing secretarial duties in support of a manager; coordinating communications between the manager, staff and program clientele; supervision of subordinate staff; researching information from internal and external sources; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. |

A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. |

Travel up to 25% may be required. |

This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment. |
