Clinical Social Workers provide clinical services to clients/inmates in a residential, home, inpatient, outpatient, rehabilitation, correctional or similar setting.

Clinical Social Worker 3's function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action OR function as managers who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors; develop policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives according to the needs of the hiring agency.

The incumbent is responsible for performing inmate evaluations/assessments; reviewing medical records for inmate history to determine eligibility for programs and services; performing inmate interventions such as restraints/environmental controls as deemed necessary; participate in treatment, planning and implementation; evaluate daily living skills and educational needs; and applying therapeutic techniques to effect change in inmate behavior.
