The Position
Grants & Projects Analysts develop and implement and/or assess, monitor, control and review grant-in-aid projects/programs administered by State agencies and provide assistance to recipients in evaluating program effectiveness.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This position is for a Grants and Project Analyst 1 within the Financial Management unit of the Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation (DETR). The incumbent coordinates departmental review of subgrant applications and assists applicants during the review process by applying in-depth knowledge of Federal and State regulations pertaining to grants, principals and processes of program evaluation and planning, and management of grants and payment management systems. This position also monitors and tracks Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA) subgrants; provides technical assistance to sub-recipients to ensure program operations are in compliance with policies and procedures; maintains an inventory of the department grant awards; and compiles data and prepares reports regarding program activities and funding sources. This position is deadline driven and requires excellent customer service skills. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, accounting, finance or related field and one year of professional grants experience which includes at least two of the following areas: writing grant applications; determining grant/subgrant program eligibility; researching, writing and implementing grant program plans; managing fiscal aspects of grants/subgrants; providing technical assistance to grant/subgrant recipients; and/or monitoring and ensuring grant/subgrant recipient compliance; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of professional grants experience which includes at least two of the following areas as described above OR one year of experience as a Grants & Projects Analyst Trainee in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
